1. Introduction

DockLock Plus respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your data and assures you that no personal information is collected, stored, or shared.

2. No Data Collection

DockLock Plus does not collect, process, or store any personal data, usage statistics, or system information. The app operates entirely on your local device and does not track your activity.

3. No Internet Communication

DockLock Plus does not send or receive data from the internet. The app functions offline and does not connect to any external servers, cloud services, or third-party analytics providers.

3.1. Security Alerts for Integrity Issues

In rare cases, if DockLock Plus detects signs of tampering, corruption, or malware infection, the app may automatically open a web page in your default browser to notify you. This page exists solely to inform the user of the potential issue and suggest safe next steps.

This mechanism is only triggered when abnormal behavior is detected, and never during ordinary use or in official Mac App Store versions. The diagnostic page is designed to help you identify and resolve potential problems safely.

No personal information is sent or collected during this process. The URL may contain basic diagnostic parameters such as the app ID and error code to indicate the nature of the issue.

4. Device Control and Data Access

Starting with build 616, DockLock Plus’s core protection against accidental Dock jumping between displays works without granting any extra permissions.

Granting “Device Control and Data Access” permission may improve Dock locking stability. Optional features, where available in this edition, such as automatically relocating the Dock after wakeup or display changes and moving the Dock by command, require this permission.

DockLock Plus uses this permission only for Dock management. It does not use it to access, store, or transmit personal files, browsing history, keystrokes, or unrelated personal information.

5. No Third-Party Services

DockLock Plus does not integrate with third-party services, ad networks, or tracking mechanisms.

6. Local Storage of Preferences

The app may store local settings on your device to remember your preferences. These settings are saved within macOS using standard system preferences storage (e.g., .plist files) and are never shared or transmitted.

7. Security

Because DockLock Plus does not process or transmit data, there are no security risks related to data breaches, leaks, or unauthorized access.
